The Active Owner also recognizes the importance of having professional, experienced self storage operators handling the day to day tasks of the self storage facility. Active owners however, desire to have greater approval over expenditures at their facilities; therefore they pay a flat monthly fee to a management company.

This owner must pre- approve expenses assoc- iated with onsite visits to the facility from Senior Corporate Officers of the management company for training and employee supervision. These owners may also wish to have input in the reporting and disbursements, but because of their more active role in the facility, do not receive operating budgets.
